Interview with Friends of Mongolia

In summer 2023 the organization Friends of Mongolia (FOM) conducted a series of video interviews with individuals who work to champion U.S.-Mongolian relations. One of those interviewed was Michael Allen Lake. Click the thumbnail to the right or check it out on YouTube here.

FOM is a non-profit organization dedicated to building partnerships between the U.S. and Mongolia through cultural exchange and education exchanges. Among other activities they run an annual scholarship program. You can find out more about FOM and their work here.

Critical Periods in Modern Mongolian History: Mongolia, the Bear, the Dragon, and the Eagle

In May 2023 Michael Allen Lake was invited to give the Keynote Speech at the XV Annual Mongolian Studies Conference. A joint presentation between the Mongolian Cultural Center, the Arctic Studies Center of the Smithsonian’s Museum of Natural History, and the Library of Congress; this annual conference brings a focus on scholarship into all aspects of Mongolian studies (history, archeology, digital preservation, and more).
